Salt Fork State Park is a state park located north of Lore City in Guernsey County, Ohio, United States. It contains 17,229 acres (6,972Â ha) of land and 2,952 acres (1,195Â ha) of water. It is the largest state park in Ohio.
History
Salt Fork creek was named for a mineral lick along its course.
In 1956 planning for a water supply for the area started, but the potential for a recreational area led to land be acquired for a state park starting in 1960. In 1967 the earthen dam was completed, and in 1968 recreational facilities began construction.
